The author of Beaver Island Remembered spent childhood years on the island and experienced the necessity of moving around the island in boats during high water. She describes how islanders didn’t require a lot of money to have fun and how children used their imaginations to entertain themselves. The illustrations themselves tell a delightful story of life on the island, where life was anything but easy but usually exciting. Currently under production is the author’s Beaver Island Remembered sequel, a larger and heavily illustrated book, Back to Beaver Island. The sequel will be published this year and will appear on this website.
