Jack Simpson is a contributing editor of the Waterways Journal in St. Louis, Missouri. He "retired" from the Journal in 1996 but continues to write weekly editorials. He is owner and president of LittleRiverBooks.com and J.R. Simpson & Associates, Inc. His company has published historical and technical books for James Swift, Kathy Flippo, The River School, et. al. He is the author of If Ships Could Talk, Poems of the River and Sea. He also publishes a weekly river e-newsletter, "Bitts & Bytes".
Jack Simpson has been married for 48 years, has four grandchildren, and lives in Florissant, Missouri.
